Project Description
Old City Philadelphia – Retail-to-Residential Conversion
In the heart of Old City Philadelphia, we transformed two vacant retail spaces into modern residential units, enhancing the neighborhood’s historic charm with contemporary living. This project, commissioned by an investor, involved converting the existing structures into two one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. Additionally, we renovated the shared hallway to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the building.
The renovation began with the complete demolition of outdated partitions, allowing for a reimagined layout conducive to comfortable living. We installed new plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to meet current codes and ensure tenant comfort. New windows and skylights were added to maximize natural light and energy efficiency.
The investor selected two distinct flat-panel kitchen designs, complemented by engineered hardwood flooring throughout the units. The shared hallway was updated with modern finishes to create a cohesive look and feel.
The collaboration with the investor, who personally selected all finish materials, resulted in three unique and inviting living spaces. We are proud of the outcome and believe these units will be a valuable addition to the Old City community.
